Drop-In/Open Skating/Stick & Puck Rules

Open Skating

Anyone is welcome to come and skate (at their own risk) on the ice during open skating times. Skates must be worn on the ice at all times. No sticks, pucks, balls, allowed. Reckless behavior is not permitted. Food and drink not permitted on the ice or the player benches. There is no access to locker rooms during open skating.

Drop-in Hockey

Ages: 10 and up

Cost: $10 per session

Drop-in Hockey sessions are times when anyone can come to the rink and play pick-up hockey. During these sessions, players will typically divide into two teams and play a scrimmage game if there are enough players. Referees are NOT present and players are responsible for supervising themselves. The skill levels of players vary widely for these sessions, anywhere from novice to advanced. If a younger child is not prepared to play against adults, they should not participate in drop-in hockey. Full hockey equipment is required, including helmets, and players under 18 must wear a helmet with a face mask. Locker rooms will be available.

Stick & Puck

Ages: Either 10 and under, or 11 and up

Cost: $10 per session

Players have the opportunity to practice hockey skills without the pressure of competition. Minimum gear required are helmet and gloves. Games (scrimmaging) are not allowed. Participants are responsible for providing their own pucks. Slapshots are not permitted. Locker rooms will be available.
